Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 August 2026
Acceptance of terms
By using the Walk the Earth app or this website, you will be agreeing to these terms once they are finalised and the app is publicly available.
The service
Walk the Earth is an app for recording and visualising real-world walking, travel and exploration, including journeys, photos attached to those journeys, and (in future) a discovery and achievement system.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for your own safety while walking, travelling or exploring.
- You should only record and share photos and location data you have the right to share.
- You should not use the app to misrepresent your location or journeys.
Content you provide
You will retain ownership of photos and content you add to your journeys. Walk the Earth needs a licence to store and display that content back to you within the app.
Pending confirmation: exact licence scope, and whether/how any content is used beyond displaying it to you (for example, in aggregate discovery statistics).
Acceptable use
The app should not be used for unlawful purposes, to harass others, or to interfere with the service or other users.
Availability
Walk the Earth is provided on an evolving basis. Features described on this website — including the future discovery system — are in development and may change before release.
Disclaimers and liability
Pending confirmation: the specific disclaimer and limitation-of-liability language, and the governing law and jurisdiction for these terms, which depend on the legal entity operating Walk the Earth.
Changes to these terms
These terms will be finalised ahead of launch and may be updated afterward as the app evolves.
